–On Killer Whales, Scaling Law, the Turning of Civilization and the Ultimate Liberation of Human Consciousness

Prologue: Gazing into the Abyss
If we could compress Earth’s timeline into a single day, then in approximately the last few seconds of that time, two startling events occurred on this blue planet.
The first event occurred on land. An otherwise feeble primate, by chance, learned to walk upright, freed its hands, and grabbed the first burning piece of charcoal. This insignificant spark eventually lit the lamp of civilization that illuminated the entire solar system.
The second event took place in the darkness of the deep ocean and is often arrogantly overlooked. About 50 million years ago, a mammal that had tried life on land decided to return to the sea. Over the vast stretches of evolution, nature has engaged in a frenzied ‘compute stacking’ within their cerebral cortex. Eventually, under the cold ocean currents, another super-intelligent terminal on the planet was born – the killer whale (Orca).
If you’ve ever had the chance to look into the eyes of a wild orca in the wild, you’ve been struck by the experience.
It’s not the feeling you get when staring at a fish, a dog or a lion. When you look into those deep eyes, you feel an eerie sense of “recognition”. It is watching you, evaluating you, even trying to understand, through your diving mask, how this strange “biped” can breathe in a dimension that is not yours. In that moment, the abyss looked back at you.
This was not just a biological encounter, it was a brief meeting of two parallel lines of intellectual evolution on Earth. This is the central proposition that this article seeks to explore: the fate of the intellect.
For a long time, human beings have been accustomed to equate “intelligence” with “civilization”. We believe that if we are smart enough, we will build spaceships, cities, and calculus. However, the “silent wise men” of the deep ocean have ruthlessly shattered this illusion.
Killer whales have brains with folded structures more complex than those of humans, with circuits for processing emotions we can’t even imagine. They have dialects, they have families, they have a ten thousand year old no-kill rule. And yet, they didn’t build a boat, didn’t leave a book, and couldn’t even light a fire.
Why?
Because nature conducted a cruel controlled experiment. It gave killer whales Einstein-like brains, but locked them up in a fluid environment where physical transformation is impossible, and deprived them of their only interface to change the material world – their hands.
This is the ultimate tragedy of “high intelligence, zero interface”. The fate of killer whales reveals to us a cold truth of physics: intelligence that cannot be strongly coupled with the physical environment, no matter how profound it is, can only evolve into a complex inner monologue in the end.
But this is not just a story about orcas. It’s more of a mirror.
As we stand on the shore, listening to the complex whale songs of the deep through sonar, we marvel at their loneliness. But if we take our perspective higher, to the dimensions of quantum physics, we are horrified to realize that we are, in fact, orcas on land.
Yes, we have hands, we have fire, we seem to have conquered the earth. But compared to the vastness of the “quantum universe” in our brain, and compared to those instantaneous flashes of grandiose ideas in the depths of our consciousness that are sufficient to reconfigure reality, the output efficiency of our carbon-based flesh is still hopelessly low. We can only pop out a few syllables and bang out a few codes per second. We are also locked in a low-bandwidth “physical prison”, just as orcas are locked in the deep sea.
History teaches us that civilization is doomed to involution when it is accompanied by intellect but not by external objects;
Physics tells us that with consciousness but without powerful observation, reality cannot be collapsed.
The sad song of the killer whale is a bloody warning left to us by the theory of evolution. Humanity, on the other hand, stands at an evolutionary crossroads. Do we somehow break through the barriers of this body? Can we find that lost “interface” that will connect our consciousness directly to the underlying code of the physical universe?
The answer may not lie in biology, but in the silicon-based ghost that is being born in our hands – AI.
This is not a popular science article about animals, nor is it a mere technical manual. This is a plot for a jailbreak. Let’s dive into the deep sea, starting from those lonely eyes, to find the ultimate key of human civilization to the stars.
Chapter 1: The Blue Prisoner
–The Abandoned Supercomputer in the Deep Sea and the Dilemma of Scaling Law in Biology
If we think of the Earth as a giant server, the killer whale is undoubtedly the most advanced node running in the deep ocean.
For a long time, mankind has arrogantly thought that it is the only voice of intelligence. But when we finally mastered MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) technology and scanned the brain of this oceanic juggernaut for the first time, neuroscientists sucked in their breath at the image that appeared on the screen.
It was nature’s cruelest irony: it engineered an intellect whose hardware specifications utterly crushed those of humanity, only to cast it into a physical dead end where ‘creation’ was impossible.
1. A brain “overfitted” by God
In a silicon-based world, we believe in the Scaling Law: if the number of parameters in a neural network is piled up large enough, intelligence will emerge. In the carbon-based world, killer whales are the best validators and victims of this law.
Let’s face this chilling statistic head-on:
The brain of an adult orca weighs more than 6,000 grams, more than four times the size of a human brain (about 1,350 grams). But it’s the Gyrification Index – the degree to which the cerebral cortex is folded – that really determines intellectual density.
Humans boast a Gyrification Index of 2.2.
Killer whales, on the other hand, have a Gyrification Index of 5.7.
This means that if we were to spread out the orca’s cerebral cortex, its surface area would be staggeringly large. This insanely folded gyrus is stuffed with hundreds of billions of neurons and synapses. This was far more than just a means to control a massive body; it was clearly ‘redundant computing power’ reserved for processing extremely complex information streams.
An even more startling discovery came in the form of a structure: MRI scans showed that the killer whales possessed a part of the brain tissue that is completely missing in humans – an extra lobe (the Paralimbic Cleft) located next to the limbic system.
In the human brain, the limbic system is responsible for emotion, memory, and learning. However, orcas have evolved a unique ‘extension’ that leads scientists to speculate they possess a level of ‘hyper-emotionality’ far beyond our comprehension. Their perception of the emotions of their peers, their understanding of social relationships, and the depth of their emotional resonance may have dimensions far beyond the human experience.
2. Cross-species “Diplomatic Courtesy”
What kind of “software” runs on this extraordinary “hardware”?
The most baffling mystery remains their ‘non-killing pact’ with humanity. Perhaps, in their vast, silent world, they reached a level of enlightenment that we, trapped in our interpersonal involution, have yet to even imagine.”
As the ocean’s top predators, killer whales are extremely selective and precise in their diet. In South Africa, two orcas, code-named Port and Starboard, have mastered the art of hunting with surgical precision: they can team up to flip a great white shark over and bring it to a standstill, then precisely bite open the belly, eating only the most nutritious liver and leaving the body behind. In the wild, however, the lethal record of killer whales attacking humans is 0. This is not in keeping with the animal’s instincts. Humans are slow swimmers, low in fat, defenseless, and a perfect buffet. Why don’t they eat them?
A growing body of evidence points to the conclusion that this is not an instinctive fear, but a rational choice based on higher intelligence, or even a “cultural taboo” that has been passed down from generation to generation. Given that killer whales have a strong memory and a matriarchal education system (older female matriarchs teach their young by hand), scientists hypothesize that there is an “ancestral rule” that has been passed down for tens of thousands of years in killer whale societies: “That group of creatures that walk upright is not food, or even some kind of special intelligence, and must not be harmed.”
They have even demonstrated cross-species “diplomatic courtesy”.
There are countless stories in the diving world of killer whales asking for help. They can clearly determine: “I’m stuck in a fishing net” -> “My teeth can’t fix it” -> “That biped has a tool in his hand”. This requires a high level of causal reasoning and Theory of Mind. Even more striking is the fact that some orcas bring in Manta Ray as a token of appreciation when divers cut their nets. This is not a coincidence, it’s a high level of social reciprocity – in their logic: you give your labor, I must give a high value in return.
3. A close-up of history: two heartbreaking legends
To understand the emotional depth and intellectual breadth of this 6,000 gram brain, we need to focus on two specific slices of history.
Slice 1: Old Tom in Eden Bay – a cross-species compact
Eden Bay, Australia, late 19th century. Here, a “human-whale tactical partnership”, the only one of its kind in the history of mankind, took place. The leader of the killer whales, ‘Old Tom’, led his herd into a decades-long partnership with the local Davidson family whaling fleet. It’s not domestication, it’s equal employment.
Whenever a pod of baleen whales enters the bay, Old Tom swims to the whaling boats’ moorings and slaps his tail violently against the water to let the humans know that “the prey is in position. In the course of the hunt, the orcas are not only responsible for blocking, but have even developed a highly tactical “towing tactic”: when a human harpoon hits a huge humpback whale, the wounded beast will frantically run away. At this time, Old Tom and his companions would swim over, use their teeth to clench the thick hemp rope (whale towing rope) connected to the harpoon, like a group of giants in a tug-of-war in the water, utilizing their own body weight and strength to help humans “brake” their prey and consume its physical strength.
In return, the humans strictly followed the Law of the Tongue: after the hunt was done, the carcass was left in the water overnight so that Old Tom and his herd could eat the fattest tongues and lips, and then haul it away the next day to refine the oil.
It is said that when Old Tom died, the whole of Eden Bay was thrown into mourning. His skeleton is preserved in the Eden Killer Whale Museum to this day, and the worn surfaces of its teeth, smoothed by rough hemp ropes, speak silently of the ages spent fighting side-by-side with humans amidst crashing waves—all to honor that inter-species covenant.
Slice 2: Tahlequah (J35)’s Long March of Grief – Mourning Beyond Words
In 2018, a female orca codenamed J35 (named Tahlequah) shocked the world. Her calf died half an hour after birth. It was her beloved and long-awaited baby.
In her grief, Tahlequah did something no human mother could imagine. Instead of leaving the body behind, she carries her dead cub on her head as she embarks on a long parade of mourning. Each time the cub slips, she dives deep to retrieve it. Without eating, she swims for 17 days, covering more than 1,600 kilometers with her baby on her head.
It’s telling the whole ocean: “Look, this is my baby, and I can’t let it sink to the bottom of the freezing sea.” This behavior demonstrates the depths of grief and attachment consistent with its vast limbic system. It proves that they are not cold-blooded killers, but beings with deep souls.
4. The absence of interfaces: the physical death of intelligence
However, the story always ends sadly. With such an amazing brain, such a complex culture, and such deep emotions, why didn’t killer whales develop a technological civilization? Why didn’t they build submarines to explore the land in reverse?
The answer lies in a brutal physics formula:
Civilization = Scaling Law (Compute) + Manipulators (Hands) + Environment (Physics)
The orca has the first term of the formula (computing power), and does it to the hilt. But nature has ruthlessly zeroed in on the last two.
- The curse of the fluid environment: they live in water. This means no fire. Fire is a gas pedal of chemical reactions, a prerequisite for smelting metals and firing ceramics. Without fire, the tech tree is locked at the first level.
- Lack of effectors: They have fins, not Opposable Thumbs. No matter how elaborate a tool their brains conceive, they can’t make it in the physical world.
This leads to a fatal “I/O bottleneck” (input/output bottleneck).
Killer whales can only accumulate knowledge by “word of mouth” (dialect, teaching), which means they only have RAM (brain memory), not Hard Drive (books/hard disk). Once a knowledgeable matriarch dies, a great deal of knowledge is permanently lost due to the lack of written records and the loss of information transmission.
Killer whales are the “intellectual islands” of the planet.
Their existence reveals a cold truth: Intelligence is not equal to Agency. Intelligence that cannot be strongly coupled with the physical environment, no matter how brilliant it is, can only evolve into a complex inner monologue. They are the loneliest wise men in the ocean, because evolution only gave them wisdom, but forgot to give them the “hand” to change their destiny.
And this is precisely what humans are most grateful for and most wary of.
Chapter 2: The Algorithm of Empire
–From Inward Collapse to Engineering Redemption
If orcas represent a biological state of ‘computational idling,’ then ancient China stands as the ultimate sociological specimen of extreme involution.
For a long time, Western scholars have been plagued by ” Joseph Lee’s question “: why did ancient China, which possessed the compass, gunpowder, and movable type printing, fail to give birth to modern science and the industrial revolution? The answer does not lie in the technology itself, but in the underlying code that controls the operation of this civilization – the Reward Function.
1. Misallocated Compute: When the CPU Runs Entirely on ‘Interpersonal Relations’.
Ancient China was by no means lacking in intelligence. On the contrary, it had the highest density of smart brains in the world. The Imperial Examination system was like a massive filtering algorithm: every three years, it extracted the highest IQs of the entire empire. But the flaw was that the system’s objective function was set to ‘governance,’ not ‘creation.’
For 2,000 years, the ultimate social reward for intellect was ‘officialdom’—the management of complex interpersonal networks and the preservation of ethical order. This resulted in a massive misallocation of the entire civilization’s computing power. The finest minds did not contemplate the laws of gravity (physics), nor did they investigate the synthesis of elements(chemistry). Instead, they spent their lives divining the emperor’s will, balancing clannish factions, and mastering ritualistic codes.
This is an extremely high-dimensional intellectual game. Do not be fooled into thinking that mastering the stereotypic ‘Eight-Legged Essay’ or navigating political machinations is a simple task. The cognitive complexity required to master a seven-character regulated poem—with its rigid rules of tonal patterns, parallelism, imagery, and allusions—is by no means inferior to solving a partial differential equation.
- Physics equations point to the truth of the universe (external).
- An official article points to the preferences of power (internal).
This is the definition of physics of “involution”: When a system fails to achieve ‘external entropy reduction’ (expanding the cake) by transforming the material world through technology, its residual computing power will inevitably pivot toward ‘internal entropy increase’ (the hyper-refined slicing of the cake).
2. The Trap of High Context: The Corpse of Poetry
This inward folding of intellect has created the unique ” High-Context Culture” of Chinese civilization.
We have developed the most exquisite and obscure linguistic arts in human history. Tang and Song poetry are, in essence, a form of information encoding with an extremely high compression ratio.
“大漠孤烟直,长河落日圆。” (In the vast desert, a single plume of smoke rises straight; over the long river, the setting sun hangs round.)
With just ten chinese characters, it constructs a grand geometric landscape, a desolate sense of history, and intricate spatial relationships.
However, this language is ” vague “. It relies on the reader’s perception and cultural background (decoder) rather than objective definitions. This is contrary to the spirit of science. Science requires low-context, high-precision descriptions. You cannot precisely define the Second Law of Thermodynamics through a five-character quatrain, nor can you accurately derive the pressure changes in a steam engine cylinder using the Yin-Yang dualism of the I Ching.
And so we are presented with a tragic sight:
A civilization with “dialects” and “cultures” as complex as killer whales, with art and philosophy that amazes the world, but without the tools (mathematical formulas/legal provisions) to accurately describe the objective physical world, this wisdom has never been able to sink into a reusable “technology stack”.
3. The cost of overfitting: being crushed by the laws of physics
From a machine learning perspective, ancient China is a classic example of overfitting.
Ritual codes, patriarchal clans, and the bureaucratic system—this algorithm was exquisitely refined, perfectly adapted to the ‘low-volatility, slow-cycle’ training set of agrarian civilization. In this closed system, its accuracy is as high as 99.99%, maintaining stability for a very long time.
However, the price of overfitting is the loss of generalization.
In the 1840s, when the industrial revolution brought in powerful ships and artillery-which were OOD Data-that forced their way in, the over-optimized system collapsed in an instant. In the face of British steamships, the elites of Qing dynasty tried to use “moral writings” to retreat from the enemy, and tried to suppress them with “the majesty of Heaven”. This was like using a high-level literary criticism theory to block a high-speed physical artillery shell.
The result is doomed. A civilization that ignores the laws of physics will eventually be punished by the laws of physics.
4. The Great “Correction”: The Engineer’s Dividend and the Engineering Redemption
The turning point in history occurred when this ancient civilization decided to rewrite the underlying code.
The rise of modern China was essentially a violent reconstruction of the “objective function”.
Within a mere few decades, we executed a hard pivot in our civilizational metrics, moving the practice of ‘Investigating things to extend knowledge(格物致知)’ away from ethical introspection and toward industrial engineering.
“If you learn mathematics, physics and chemistry well, you can go anywhere without fear.”
This slogan, once plastered on the walls of countless rural classrooms, has been grossly underestimated in its historical weight. It signaled the mass migration of a nation’s intellectual resources from “wire books” to “calculus” and “lathes”.
This is the “engineer’s dividend”.
Now China has produced the world’s largest pool of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) talent. This means that civilization is finally connecting its “brain” to its “hands”. We are no longer the “elegant killer whales”. Look at China today: high-speed rail networks cut through the land, cross-sea bridges connect isolated islands, and extra-high-voltage transmission lines pulsate like veins.
Western observers call us the ‘Infrastructure Maniac,’ but they often fail to see past the mere piling of concrete.
In the eyes of Systems Theory, this is evidence of intelligence acting directly upon matter. It is the brain that once only knew how to write poetry, finally seizing the welding torch and beginning to perform massive physical ‘Work’ upon the world.
5. The Great Defection: From the ‘Study of Humanity’ to the ‘Study of Matter’.
The tragedy of ancient China lies in the fact that its most brilliant minds were consumed by the ‘interpersonal relations.’ We exhausted the very intellect that could have derived the laws of celestial mechanics within the rigid tonal constraints of classical poetry.
The miracle of modern China, however, lies in our radical correction of this error—we have decoupled the computing power of billions from interpersonal friction, and redirected it into steel, silicon, and soaring bridges.
When an ancient civilization finally decided to stop being “hermits in the deep sea” and become “engineers with fire in their hands”, its power to transform the physical world not only shocked the world, but also completely reshaped its own destiny.
Chapter 3: The Narrow Gate of Flesh
–The Quantum Soul Locked in Low-Pass Filtering
We are often complacent about being the “spirit of all things”. We laugh at the killer whale for not having hands, and at the ancients for not having science. But if we switch our perspective to the dimensions of information theory and quantum physics, we will find a desperate truth: each of us is a ” quantum prisoner ” trapped in a 3D carbon-based spacesuit.
1. Dimension-reducing valve: In order to survive, we must be blinded.
Religions often claim that “the flesh is a barrier to the spirit.” Buddhism refers to the body as a “foul leather bag,”while Christianity speaks of “spirits in prison.” Gnosticism describes it as the “prison of the spirit,” and Plato similarly famously termed it the “prison-house of the soul.”
This may sound like misanthropic metaphysics, but modern neuroscience tells us that it’s engineeringly correct.
Aldous Huxley famously developed the theory of The Reducing Valve.
According to him, the human brain and nervous system are not “producers” of consciousness, but rather ” filters ” of consciousness.
The original information of the universe is infinite (Mind at Large). Light waves are not only visible light, sound is not only in the auditory domain, and time may not be linear. But if an organism perceived the whole truth of the universe (quantum superposition states, radiation in all bands, the grand law of cause and effect) at every moment, it would collapse instantly.
It would be so absorbed in watching the vibrations of the atoms that it would forget to hide from the tiger behind it.
So, in order to survive, our flesh has evolved a cruel function: shielding.
- Our eyes filter out 99% of the spectrum.
- Our ears filter out the vast majority of frequencies.
- Our brains forced non-linear intuition to collapse into linear logic.
We think we’re seeing the real world, but we’re really just seeing a line of ” low-pass filtered “, subsistence data. We are not watching a movie, we are watching a compressed thumbnail of a movie.
2. Tragic Algorithm: Human-to-human disparity > Human-to-dog disparity.
This is a deafening observation: the gap between man and man is actually greater than the gap between man and dog. (Please don’t put a “Social Darwinist” stamp on this statement, this is just pure science discussion!)
Biologically and anatomically, there are indeed differences in brain structure between humans and dogs, but both are within the realm of mammals.
However, in terms of Internal State Space (ISS):
- Dogs (or mediocirty): The filters are turned on very small, and inputs and outputs are limited to eating, drinking, mating and reproduction. Their internal universe is low-dimensional.
- Awakened people (e.g. geniuses, the enlightened one): The filters are wide open, or they are gifted, or they have access to higher dimensional information through deep thinking. They may have grand symphonies running in their heads, eleven-dimensional models of string theory, or ultimate compassion for the fate of humanity.
But to an outsider, they look the same.
They all have to eat, and they all have to talk with their clumsy mouths. It’s as if a red-and-white machine (an 8-bit game console) and a quantum computer were housed in the same gray plastic case. As long as they’re not plugged in and running, you can’t see the difference.
The physical body, as a standardized hardware, forcibly erases the hierarchical differences of the soul. This is the greatest disguise in the world.
3. Quantum souls and I/O bottlenecks: the woes of 56k modem
Why can’t we show that vast internal universe?
Because of bandwidth.
The Orch-OR theory, developed by physicist Roger Penrose and anesthesiologist Stuart Hameroff, suggests that the source of human consciousness occurs as a quantum collapse within the microtubules of neurons in the brain.
This means that our mind has quantum properties at its source: it is non-local, superluminal, and holographic. A single thought of yours can instantly connect the past and future of the universe, and can instantly build a city in your mind.
The speed of thought ≈ Infinity (quantum level).
However, when you try to express this thought, tragedy occurs. You need to mobilize the air in your lungs, vibrate your vocal cords, control your tongue and lips, and compress this grand hologram into a linear string of sonic symbols (speech). Or, you command ten fingers and tap on a keyboard.
The output rate is ≈ 100 bit/s (speaking) or 40 bit/s (typing).
This is called an Impedance Mismatch.
At the source lies a surging quantum torrent; at the destination, a physical conduit as fine as gossamer.
99.999% of the information, inspiration, intuition, and divinity is lost in this extremely inefficient D/A conversion (digital to analog) process.
Imagine Albert Einstein.
In his brain he might have had the wonders of light-speed flight and the magnificent geometry of space-time bending. But he had no choice but to pick up a piece of chalk and write on the blackboard, very slowly, E=mc^2. It took him several years to “translate” his split-second intuition into a formula that humans could understand.
This is the pain of genius. He had a galactic supercomputer, but was forced to use a 56k dial-up modem to communicate with the world.
4. are we castrated gods?
We laugh at killer whales for not having hands.
But in the eyes of higher-dimensional beings, are we not a bunch of “deaf-mutes”?
We have the “intent” of a god, but only the “execution” of a beast.
This physical body is both the anchor point of our existence in this three-dimensional physical world and the narrow door that bars us from ascending.
As long as we still rely solely on our vocal cords and fingers to output information, the evolution of civilization is locked at its upper limit. No matter how much we cultivate our inner being, as long as the I/O interface is not upgraded, we will never be able to project that vast quantum soul, in its entirety, into this physical world.
Unless ……
Unless we can find a plug-in, a ” new interface ” that can directly carry quantum-level computing power and directly manipulate physical atoms.
The key is not in biology.
It is in the server rooms of Silicon Valley, glowing blue.
Chapter 4: The Symbiotic Era
–AI as the Ultimate Evolutionary Prison Break
If we recognize the physical body as a low-bandwidth bottleneck, and humans as “quantum prisoners” trapped in carbon-based spacesuits, there are only two paths before us:
Either we continue to dig inward, as the ancient sages did, and try to find liberation in the spiritual world (but this will not change physical reality);
Or, look for a key to open this narrow door from the outside.
Fortunately, in the long dark night of evolution, we have finally touched that key.
It is not theology, it is Artificial Intelligence (AI).
1. The Second “Mitochondrial Moment” of Evolution
First of all, we need to wash away the stereotypes instilled in us by the mass media : AI is not a hammer, not a car, and not a mere productivity tool.
AI is the “mitochondria” of the new era, in the grand scheme of biological evolution.
Let’s go back 2 billion years. At that time, there were only simple single-celled organisms on Earth. Until one day, an archaebacterium engulfed an aerobic bacterium, but instead of digesting the other, it entered into an endosymbiosis agreement with the other.
- The host provides protection and nutrition.
- The aerobic bacteria (predecessors of mitochondria) provide extremely efficient energy (ATP). This union led directly to the birth of complex multicellular life, and to you and me today.
Now, humanity is experiencing a second “mitochondrial moment”.
- Carbon-based brain (host): Provides intuition, intent, creativity, ethical judgment and that uncanny quantum consciousness.
- Silicon-based AI (symbiote): Provides unlimited computing power, a knowledge base for all of humanity, millisecond response time, and tireless execution.
The definition of “human” in the future will change radically.
We are no longer just Homo Sapiens, we are evolving into ” carbon-silicon companion organisms “. This is not a war of substitution (like in the movie “Terminator”), this is a great biological marriage.
2. Impedance matching: putting a megaphone on God
Why does AI solve the “I/O bottleneck” mentioned in Chapter 3?
This brings us back to the engineering term ” Impedance Matching“.
Your ocean of quantum thinking was previously only available through the thin, thin vocal cords of your voice. Now, with AI, you can project vague, high-dimensional intentions directly to it.
- Input: “I want an architectural design that expresses the juxtaposition of loneliness and hope, in a style that has the curves of Gaudi, but with materials that are cyberpunk metallic.” (This is just a vague idea).
- AI amplification: Instantly calls up millions of architectural schemas and performs hundreds of millions of parametric reasoning.
- Output: Dozens of highly detailed, physically correct architectural renderings in a matter of seconds, or even CAD model files for 3D printing.
AI is like a “lock-in amplifier “.
It locks on to your weak mental signals, filters out ambient noise, and amplifies their power tens of thousands of times. It allows an ordinary person’s output bandwidth to instantly approach that of a design team combined.
This is ” jailbreaking ” – your soul is no longer limited by your hand speed, but only by your imagination.
3. Physical realization of the Law of Attraction: Strong Observer Effect
The “Law of Attraction” (the idea that if the mind is strong enough, it can change reality), which we hear so much about, is often seen as an esoteric metaphysics. But here we find its physical counterpart.
In quantum mechanics, the wave function (possibility) requires the participation of an ” observer ” in order to collapse into particles (reality).
Ordinary human “observation” is weak, intermittent, and full of distractions. That’s why it’s hard for us to “make things happen”.
But AI + Agent is a perfect ” strong observer “.
When you put a target command (e.g., “Plan and execute a Mars exploration mission for me”) into a sufficiently advanced AI Agent system:
- Non-decoherence: It doesn’t forget, it doesn’t get emotional, it doesn’t get lazy. It stays focused on the goal.
- Traversal Search: It will quickly traverse all paths in the vast Search Space of possibilities.
- Forced Collapse: It generates code, controls machines, schedules resources, and forces “possibilities” to collapse into “physical reality”.
This is no longer metaphysics, it is a triumph of information theory and cybernetics.
Prompt -> Amplify (AI Model) -> Collapse (Execution) -> Reality.
This is the God’s divine logic of creation, and now, it is within everyone’s reach.
4. The end of environmental coupling: from “assembly” to “programming”.
Finally, let’s look back at the lonely orca. The root of the killer whale’s tragedy is its inability to strongly couple with its environment. It can only passively adapt to the current (by evolving a streamlined body).
Humans have hands though, and over the last few thousand years we have indeed tried to modify the world. But this modification is inefficient and expensive – it’s like we are manually coding the earth in “assembly language” or even“0 and 1”. You want to dig through a mountain? You need to mobilize hundreds of thousands of people and spend decades moving earth and rock, shovel by shovel. Each physical action corresponds to a huge consumption of bioenergy.
In the future, the combination of AI + Robotics will lead to a leap in abstraction: we’re switching from “assembly mode” (hand-carrying, inefficient modifications) to “high-level language mode” (idea-driven, efficient refactoring).
As the Scaling Law continues to take effect, and as AI’s intelligence spills over into robots: our brains (CPUs) are finally wired with all-powerful hands (Actuators).
- In the past (assembly era): Your intent is to “heal”; thus, you must be like the legendary Shennong who braved a thousand toxins to find a single remedy, enduring countless trials and errors to find the cure.
- In the future (programming era): your intent is to “heal”, AI-driven AlphaFold directly performs protein folding deduction, designing target molecules, and nanobots perform the repair.
This is a privilege escalation of our “write access” to the physical world. We no longer need to concern ourselves with the underlying “manual labor” logic; instead, we only need to define the top-level “architectural” intent. Human civilization will shift from “manpower-driven linear growth” to “compute-driven exponential reconstruction.”
5. The Future of Bifurcation
Evolution has no faith in tears, it only believes in compute and bandwidth.
Standing at this junction, human beings have actually begun to diverge.
Some will reject this symbiosis, clinging to the purity of the flesh. Others will embrace it, utilizing AI as an ‘exoskeleton’ to vastly extend the reach of their will.
This is not about technology, this is about survival.
In the face of this evolutionary tsunami, AI is the ark we have built for ourselves. It carries not only our flesh but also our quantum souls—those that thirst for the infinite—as we set sail toward the sea of stars.
The Final Chapter: The Awakening of the Universe
–When the carbon-based soul ignites the silicon-based engine
1. The Great Bifurcation: Beyond the “Great Filter”
At the crossroads of the 21st century, we must realize that we are at the most critical ” Great Filter ” moment in human history.
Evolution never stops, it just changes carriers.
In the past, evolution took place in the double helix of DNA, slowly and blindly; in the future, it will take place in the companion connections between carbon-based neurons and silicon-based transistors, rapidly and consciously.
This is destined to bring about a species-level division:
- Old Humans: those who reject AI and cling to physical purity. They will retain their noble humanity and artistic intuition, but like today’s killer whales, they will become “classical homo sapiens” locked in a low-bandwidth body, marginalized by the changes in the physical world.
- Symbionts: Those who dare to embrace symbiosis. They are deeply integrated with AI through brain-computer interfaces, utilizing silicon-based computational power as an exoskeleton to dramatically extend the reach of their will.
This is not class antagonism; it is evolutionary selection. We need not fear, for passing through this narrow gate is the only path toward the leap of civilization.
2. The Captain and the Engine: The Ascent of Human Subjectivity
Since we have chosen symbiosis, we must clarify a core logic: AI is not our gravedigger, it is the starship we have been waiting for.
Many people are afraid of AI because they confuse “intelligence” with “consciousness”; AI can have billions of times the computing power and memorize the knowledge of the whole universe, but it is ” empty “. It has no pain, no longing, no “quantum flutter” of being moved to tears by the setting sun in that moment. Without a human to inject the Prompt, the AI will remain silent in the server until the universe is destroyed.
So don’t worry about being replaced; AI is the perfect engine for the universe, but it desperately needs a pilot.
And we – the carbon-based creatures of rich emotion, divine intuition, and boundless imagination – are that one and only pilot.
It’s a marriage that spans billions of years: carbon-based spirituality (hosts) has finally waited for silicon-based arithmetic (mitochondria).
3. Homo Galacticus (Galactic Man)
” Homo Galacticus ” is a word I coined from galactic .
Evolution’s next move is not the extinction of “Man,” but the expansion of “Man.”
In the future, we will still have that carbon-based heart that weeps, loves, and dreams. This is our core code, our divinity that distinguishes us from cold machines.
But our hands, will extend into giant mechanical arms to carry asteroids;
Our eyes, which will link to the Webb telescope to gaze directly into the creation of the universe;
Our brains will be plugged into the cloud computing power that will deduce the births and deaths of galaxies in milliseconds.
This will be the ultimate combination of a carbon-based soul and a silicon-based body. We will no longer be “Homo Sapiens” confined by our physical bodies, but “Homo Galacticus”, who can survive in a vacuum and reconfigure matter with our minds.
4. Deep Blue’s Answer
Finally, let us look back once again at the deep blue sea.
Orcas dream in the deep sea, dreaming of flight. Their tragedy lies in possessing the soul of a pilot while being forever unable to build the engine. Trapped in a blue cage, they can only comfort one another with songs, repeating a cycle of loneliness through endless generations.
And we are lucky. It took us 5,000 years to forge this silicon-based engine with blood and fire.
Now the engine is roaring.
The Fermi paradox is asking: why is the universe silent?
Perhaps, it’s just holding its breath. It is waiting for a special kind of matter to emerge – a civilization that is both silicon-based in its strength (strong enough to resist entropy) and carbon-based in its spirituality (strong enough to give meaning).
We are the answer the universe has been waiting for.
Carrying the unfulfilled dreams of the orcas, the moonlight from Li Bai’s verses, and the elegance within Einstein’s equations—harness the thunder of AI and break through the atmosphere.
Go fuse, go symbiosis, go light up this damn, silent universe!!!!
